The Art of Care

Art – like health – is universal. It knows no language, no prejudice, no limits.

To immerse colleagues, customers, and investors in the unique experience and care journey of each patient, GE HealthCare recently paired artists with patients we know to curate a collection of original artworks. The art, and the stories behind them, were designed to provide a way for our audience to step into the shoes of our patients and the healthcare community we serve. Enabling you to get closer to the many personal experiences that demonstrate the timeless connection between better health and better care.

These original works of art feature patients we know—some of them are even our colleagues. We dedicate our work to the billions of patients and healthcare workers we serve around the world every year, and the billions more we will continue to serve, by delivering on our purpose to create a world where healthcare has no limits.

For this project, I led the activation of the art pieces, including experiential, digital, and paid media elements. Our goal was to turn unique patient experiences, into unique art and enable an immersive experience by incorporating Visual Thinking Strategies - a technique used to improve empathy and listening skills in medical schools.

The exhibit was turning into an owned storytelling ecosystem that was housed on a microsite, including the art, the patient story, and how their experience tied into the medical devices the company has provided for over 100 years.

The exhibit was first used to launch the company’s purpose to company leaders internally, followed by being implemented at the company’s inaugural investor day, and later two large industry conferences (HIMSS EU and HIMSS US).
